We usually use original period cameras during our WWII reenact events, but occasionally we do a photoshoot event were we use mostly digital cameras due to practical and also economical reasons as shooting hundreds of photos in one day using film can be expensive. I would highly recommend getting yourself a period-correct camera if you are a serious reenactor and want to capture some memories during an event. The cameras are relatively simple to use and film is still readably available. You can get a decent camera relatively cheap – just make sure it works. Today, on the other hand, I will share my way of accomplishing an authentic-looking digital photo, by bringing you along through the whole process. I will be taking selfies today, using the timer on my camera, as I did not have access to a model or a photographer.
