The “Lockdown Longbow” is actually a modern compound crossbow that shoots medieval war arrows at exactly the same speed as a 160lbs English War Longbow. Why am I doing this?
1. I am too weedy to draw a really heavy war bow
2. This allows me to run all sorts of tests showing what a powerful longbow can do without actually having to learn to shoot one.
A dreadful cheat, but effective; and now I have the arrows for the tests!
We will be going on to shoot at all manner of armour and material samples and loads of other tests too….coming soon.
